A naughty student has been blasted by the YUSU President after being caught watching PORN in a lecture.
A photo posted to anonymous social network Yik Yak depicted a brazen student sitting in Hendrix Hall viewing what appears to be graphic material.
The photo was posted with a caption reading: “When you’re in a 2hr lecture and you get a 5 min break”.
Most people who commented on the post appeared to find the discovery to be comical, but it has since sparked debate as to whether this is acceptable.
YUSU President Ben Leatham blasted the public voyeur saying: “It is blatantly obvious that watching pornography in a public space is completely unacceptable.
“I encourage any student who sees this happening again to report it directly to the University.”
A spokesperson for the University said this was covered by regulations involving transmission of obscene or indecent images into the University.
He said: “Members of the University who breach this regulation may be subject to disciplinary action.”
This is not the first time students have been caught out in York.
York Vision reported in February this year that a group of law students were allegedly caught looking at images of naked women in a lecture.
However, neither the law students nor this alleged rule-breaker have yet been caught and brought to justice.
