So, you all stumbled, with the weight of a weeks’ hangovers rolled into one, down to Freshers’ fair on Saturday. However, you still want to impress- your tights and jumpers haven’t all got holes in them yet, your jeans are clean and your clothes are presumably new. We aimed to find Freshers with unique senses of style, or just with well put together outfits, so here’s the cream of the crop. If you spot a friend here, divert him or her to our website! And always feel free to join the VisionĀ team. That’s what we were at the fair for, after all.
We loved Ksenia’s colour co-ordination in what was already an already very sleek and sharp look. The scarf and the clutch add edge and bring all the elements of the outfits together.
This is Taz, who is a Chemistry student. Apparently she got almost everything that she’s wearing here from Ebay! A bargain hunter with a unique sense of style, her top is fun and the skirt is bang on trend. It’s not just molecular structures that she knows how to put together.
Michael looks incredibly sharp in this suit. He said that he never usually got this many compliments for his tie but we found that hard to believe. The pretty tie clip and satchel really make his look unique.
This is Holly and I don’t really need to say why she stands out- look at that hair! Her kimono-jacket is just amazing and if you look closely, her socks have little cats on them! She definitely has her own sense of style.
This is Alex who does music tech. He first caught my eye because I really liked his beard thing (is that creepy? I don’t know anymore), but his jumper is lovely and he manages to look both casual and fashionable- he is wearing his cap backwards which can look a bit *NSYNC but he manages to pull it off.
This is Alex who is not technically a Fresher, she’s a third year, but isn’t her skirt fantastic? I love midi skirts but always manage to look like a tragic middle-aged Geography teacher in them. Alex pulls this one off, and you can find similar ones in Urban Outfitters and Asos, I’m told.
Another music tech student (I know, I’ve never met one before but they were everywhere on Saturday, in beautiful jumpers, it seems!). As I mentioned, this jumper is simply to die for, and although it wasn’t that sunny it goes with those sunglasses. Sunglasses when it’s not sunny are really good if you want to pretend to be a celebrity who doesn’t want to be papped.
This is V. Apparently there aren’t any other letters in her name. Her hair is really cool and the McQueen-inspired scarf brings out her otherwise casual outfit. She’s another person who definitely has her own style.
And finally, this is Andy Bewley. He is a second year Philosopher but he managed to bring a lazy surfer vibe to York with his slouchy T-shirt, flowing golden locks and conch shells. Just look at him smoulder for the camera.

…and with one final stroke, York Vision disappeared up its own arse
