It is often pointed out to me that I have the bawdy sense of humour that would not go amiss in a Carry On film. I will gladly supply any slight innuendos or accidental entendre with a “That’s what she said”, “Said the bishop to the actress” or even just ribald cackling.
With a holographic cover that when tilted shows a braying donkey and two blue tits in flight (because what were you expecting?), Tits & Ass recognises the names of animals in the animal kingdom that have crossed over into meaning something else entirely. What Tits & Ass does is focusses the attention of the reader on the nuances of the English language and it does this well. Colour images of the animals are pictured alongside dictionary-style pronunciation and definitions with both animal and slang usage.
The author description styles the author, Dr Robert Tiergarten, as “[specialising] in unusual animal phenomena and his thesis on petrified male chickens, where he spent two years surrounded by rock-hard cocks, is considered by many to be a seminal work.” In a world where it is entirely possible to buy doctorates online or even just use the title of “Dr” anywhere, I want to believe that Tiergarten really is a doctor.
Not believing that such a book could exist, upon reaching the end of Tits & Ass, a friend remarked, “You think it’s all about tits and ass, but actually it’s only partially about that and the rest is penis and vagina. Also animals.”
