Students petition to get Nicolas Cage to come to Willow

A petition has been started by York students in the Nicolas Cage Society, hoping to attract the star to York’s most infamous nightspot, Willow.

The students are petitioning Nicolas Cage directly, giving him the simple message; “Come to Willow”.

Many students have expressed delight at the idea, and the petition, only being a few hours old, has had an overwhelmingly positive response.

One student, Diederik van Wersch, wrote on the page:

“It would give meaning to my life.”

YUSU President, Kallum Taylor, was amused by the idea, ‘liking’ the petition on Facebook, and commenting:

“This is something which all lovers of the surreal should back 100% and share.”

The CO-CEO of CageSoc, Ali Amer, commented:

“We’re sure it can happen. This may seem ridiculous, but let’s remember that Nicolas took on The Wickerman, Snake eyes and shouting the alphabet at a tormented office worker. We could play games in Willow, like ‘find the declaration of independence’, with the winner receiving a prize of five shots (consecutive slamming of said shots would be in the terms and conditions). We’re prepared to sweeten the deal with prawn crackers, tequila and even speed; anything to get the big man on board.”

“We could call the night Gone in 60 Sambucas.”

Nicolas Cage was unavailable for comment.

(The fact that term hasn’t started yet is irrelevant)
