Comedian and radio host Josh Widdicombe will headline this year’s YUSU Comedy Night, the students’ union has announced.
The Mock the Week panellist will perform in Central Hall on Sunday 5th October, drawing the freshers’ week events to a close.
Widdicombe, who was unveiled as the new host of Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk in July, will be supported by Irishman Andrew Ryan and Nathan Caton, both Edinburgh Fringe regulars who have also appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News.
Headliner Widdicombe has recently starred in his own BBC Three sitcom, entitled “Josh”. A mainstay of the British comedy circuit, he has also had prior experience as a regular on Stand Up for the Week, as well as The Last Leg on Channel 4.
The line-up was hailed by incoming YUSU President Sam Maguire, who told Vision: “Comedy night was a huge success last year and it will be even better this time around. The acts are great and if you haven’t already got tickets you should now!”
