Is ex-Big Brother winner Sophie Reade joining York next term?

It appeared last week that Sophie Reade had confirmed that she is to join the University of York this year to study Nursing. She made the announcement via her Facebook profile, making a post in the official “University of York Freshers 2011/2012” Facebook page.

Last week, she posted a “:)” on the page’s wall, initially with no further comment. This attracted a stream of comments questioning her college and course. In response she posted: “just nursing huni 45 weeks ouch! X then gonna go into adult nursing i hope!” She had also confirmed earlier that she is Derwent college, adding: “yeah have a room but may spend some time commuting from manchester x”

The 45-week mention makes reference to the fact that Nursing students only receive a fortnight’s holiday for Christmas and Easter, and a paltry three weeks off for the summer.

Other freshers have also commented on Sophie Reade’s post, questioning whether the Facebook profile is really her. One comment reads: “I highly doubt this is the real Sophie Reade somehow”, while another states, “is this a joke. Sophie Reade is a GLAMOUR MODEL people… This is so a fake account it’s unreal :\.”

Although the Facebook profile was started in February 2007, over two years before she shot to fame on Big Brother 9, her management has confirmed to Vision that she won’t be coming to York, and that the Facebook profile is indeed fake. It is understood that the profile’s name, profile picture and description was changed to match Sophie Reade’s around the time she entered the house.

Infamous dishface and wannabe campus lothario Cameron Craig commented: “I am well disappointed, I’d be so on that, on it like a car bonnet.”

  1. What on earth is this doing on the Vision homepage?

Someone nobody has heard of isn’t coming to York.

    Typical Goddard waffle.

  2. IS VISION PREOCCUPYING ITSELF WITH USELESS AND VACUOUS HEADLINES TO FILL THE SUMMER NEWS DROUGHT?

Yes. The answer is yes. Who is this person?

  3. They call this time of year Silly Season for a reason guys, lighten up.
