On another note, who scheduled an election to coincide with Match of the Day? Now i’m torn :(
actually i think you’ll find that a lot of people have trouble understanding the mechanics of the vote.
Come on people, I’m starting to get extremely bored from all the ‘in jokes’ on the nouse blog…
I agree with Mr Harte…The Nouse blog makes me feel slightly nauseous.
It appears that Vision and Nouse are contradicting each other. According to Nouse there is a better turn out than last year?
I find it absolutely disgusting that Vision have someone covering this that cannot understand something as SIMPLE as the single transferable vote. You have let down your readership by failing to give the proper respect to this CORNERSTONE of campus democracy.
I hope you have your funding cut.
A dead fox? Surely just part of Hutching’s ‘aesthetic’…
I reckon Young should be our Deputy Sub-Editor too!
I think you’ll find the Vision – Westrop encounter was a Tru affair
@ Average Joe…
Surprising in a university of York’s calibre, given how simple it is. Just shows what university expansion does to the quality of York students.
hahaha this is incredible! wearing a fox? how avant.
Do your essay Paddy!! x
Good effort there. You’ve just called Nell a guy, and changed her name to Neil. It’s not like Vision to upset LGBT is it? Oh wait.
i’m liking the new vision blogs. its got a nice, light-hearted touch. keep it up guys.
@ Angry Election Spectator.
I have no idea how the election system works….
but, imagine if you didn’t know the system and stopped being angry, theres loads of other more exciting things you could know!!!
ciao :)
YEY!!! go nick go nick go nick
Did not expect the Welfare result at all, other than that everything has gone as was predicted, hopefully a few more surprises on the way.
Keep up the coverage Vision.
Amazing, Vision manages to do a live blog without constant in jokes from the YUSU clique unlike some other campus media outlets.
Try and figure out how to fix the URY podcasts and it will be much better.
i didn’t say fuck off!
Cracking photos Dan. Nice one.
No-one seems to understand why Bo won Welfare. For me it was because of Warner-Medley’s awful video! I was going online to vote for him but I just couldn’t after seeing it. Anyway, excellent entertaining coverage and great photos!
Great Blogging Vision. Was a relief to get a blog on the night without all the constant in-jokes and first name references to people in the No use clique. Lot’s of decent quotes and quick updates. I take my tea-cozy off to you all…
p.s. I find it quite hard to imagine that Sam Daniels told one of you to fuck off
@1:16 … TV career? Good shout.
And as for the STV – it is very complicated. However this isn’t really STV… This is bog standard AV (because each position only has one winner – if there had been 10 NUS delegates then that would have been STV). You eliminate the weakest candidate and their votes get redistributed. Simple. More importantly – though many people struggle with it, the people covering the election and running the election should probably understand it! :P
Dear York Vision,
You are hereby charged with ruining the fun on Saturday, March 13 2010. On a number of separate incidences you attempted to ‘stir up shit’ between YUSU Student Activities Officer Rhianna Kinchin and YUSU Student Activities Officer-Elect Nick Scarlett, by implying they were in some sort of fight. In fact, they are close friends who anybody could have seen strutting their stuff in Fibbers on Friday Night, boogieing on down at the elections last night or working closely together on any number of events ranging from Kids Camp to We Are Golden.
For this grievous disturbance of the fun, you are hereby charged with 1 year of correctly researching stories and situations before publicly airing them.
That is all.
Dear The Fun Police,
Get a life.
That is all.
Brilliant job Vision. Just read through this, some really funny moments. Good to see a bit of humour in a York media blog.
Enjoyed reading the blog! Was ever so slightly highly strung on the night, so good to read over it again.
“Dan Walker and Tim Ngwena seem to be amused by the Vision lot.”
I’d actually just commented upon the way Vision and Nouse were sat staring each other down across the hall. It looked like they were getting ready to start jousting or something lol.
Well done on the blog! Tried to comment on the night but it didn’t work. Mr Norton made me promise I would attempt to recomment so here I am.
