And tune in to URY at ury.org.uk or on 1350AM from midnight for our coverage, continuing until tomorrow morning! :) Will be monitoring this in case I miss anything ;)
Hi Paul! Just to say I’m here and ready to follow! Thanks for doing this – I will comment again soon! ^_^ XXXXXXXX
Where the hell is the Nouse live blog?
On it’s way Nouse-y, starting in a few minutes x
Hey guys, best regards from Germany. Hope you re well Chris! The Lib Dams will receive 45% of the votes – for sure!
Predictions… oh I dunno! I think it’ll either be the Lib Dems or the Conservatives. I know a lot of students who are voting Lib Dem, and they’ve certainly had the most thorough campaign on this campus, but I also know people who are voting conservative, thinking that it is “the best of a bad lot”. :-S
Re: 21.57, I’m not a massive fan of the paving stones. Computerised paving stones leading the way to Downing Street… oh, it’s a visual metaphor. Congrats, BBC. Why can’t they have a graphic of David Cameron slashining at his opponents’ faces? It’s going to be a long night.
I voted for the Lib Dem candidate here in York. The fact that it was such a close race (a fraction of a percent, right?) between the Conservatives and Lib Dems kind of made it an easy choice. I’m definitely in camp “anyone but the Conservatives” & the First Past the Post system makes tactical voting the obvious choice. Pretty much all politicians are disingenious and basically repugnant though. That’s life.
And apparently I can’t spell disingenuous. Ack.
Great job Pauly-V! (yes, you have a new Jersey Shore inspired nickname. Can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner…)
Here at castle Goose we’re flipping between channel 4 and BBC!
“I want to see her in an astronaut suit just floating about in space” about Emily with the map by Thom (aka pres Thom)
Everyone in the Goodricke JCR says a huge hello to Vision. Enjoying the blog. There’s a fantastic atmosphere in here. Particularly enjoying the cg stairs in No10 Downing Street at the mo.
I love how Vision appears to be getting news faster than BBC :)
Who’s the dude standing behind Brown?
“CAN I FINISH PLEASE?!”
Someone needs to learn crowd-control techniques.
I’d like to make it clear that was a dig at the beeb, not at the wonderful YSTV.
Gordon Clegg or Nick Brown- which one has a nicer ring to it?
Result for York expected at 5am!
Really great coverage on here.
Would like to hear a mention of just how impressive the turnout of York students was (absolutely nothing to do with me so no self plugging). From the sounds of it we had students queing outside Vanbrugh all day and managed it perfectly. Great example of how to get students voting.
But yeah, really impressive coverage here from Paul (and whoever else is blogging)
Shame about the students in various other places who apparently caused big delays as they didn’t have their ballot papers with them, which might have meant people didn’t get chance to vote.
i’m going to bed, i’ve got a feeling i’m going to wake up and feel very disappointed. The banter on this blog has helped me through it though. Good stuff Paul.
The press have been allowed into the main hall in York, indicating that both York Central and York Outer have finished counting. No formal declaration yet but it’s looking likely to be Labour and Conseratives taking the two.
Disappointing that Tories are winners in York. Not in the least surprised about York central.
Wahey Tom Scott!
I’m watching :)
I did have a bit of a nap a few hours ago…
very dissappointed that Nick didn’t pull it out of the bag. Especially as he came out of the live debates as possibly the only adult taking part!
Jim Norton, classic selfish voter rather than caring for the future of his road rather than the country.
But hey, my current conservative MP Michael Gove (shadow schools) increased his percentage of votes in another fairly safe seat.
