JAMES BEAT the elements on Sunday morning to claim a comfortable 5-0 victory over Langwith in the opening round of this term’s College Football calendar.
Two goals from Matt Singleton helped last term’s champions to continue their excellent form, whilst Langwith struggled to assert themselves in the contest.
The postgraduates of Wentworth were the other winners of the day, as they bagged two first half goals to record their first victory of the term against a struggling Alcuin side.
The freezing weather claimed the other two football fixtures though, whilst also resulting in the cancellation of all three College Hockey fixtures. However, James Rugby also defied the cold to start the term with a bang, as they easily brushed aside the challenge of Alcuin to cruise to a 48-0 victory. The College Sport calendar continues next week, as we build up to the high-profile event of this term in the shape of College Varsity.
