In a hard-fought encounter on 22 Acres, Derwent finished clinically to maintain their flawless record.
Both sides made reasonably bright starts to the match but it was Derwent who looked the more threatening. Both Ollie Harrison and Alex d’Albertanson shot past the upright after the ball was only partially cleared from some early corners. Goodricke also had an early chance John Sharpe’s effort going agonisingly wide of the post.
Yet Derwent were to strike first courtesy of an Ollie Harrison free-kick which was blasted low through the wall past the unsighted Gooch. They continued to pressurise a Tom Brandreth effort bouncing uncomfortably in front of Gooch whose fumble nearly allowed Derwent to extend their lead. Nevertheless, they did do this a few minutes later when a Harrison corner was poked home by Harry Bradshaw after an initial header was saved. Derwent remained on top for the rest of the half despite several more efforts on goal from Sharpe.
Derwent were quick to add a third in the second period d’Albertanson lifting the ball cutely over Gooch’s head and under the bar after a scintillating cross-field ball from Harrison. Goodricke had Gooch to thank that they did not go further behind a few minutes later after he denied Bradshaw twice from close range.
Following this chance, Goodricke started to pile pressure on Derwent Joe Mann volleying over the bar and having an effort saved by Seb Treasure. Following this both teams had great opportunities to score. David Kirk turned quickly and put the ball past Gooch’s left upright for Derwent whilst interplay between Sharpe and Mann almost resulted in a goal for Goodricke, Sharpe’s effort being deflected wide. However, Derwent had won the game long since and went on to further sink their opponents d’Albertanson showing great skill before curling a shot into the top left corner.
Derwent ran out comfortable victors at the final whistle but perhaps the score-line flattered them a little. Goodricke should have scored at least one goal.

Im pretty sure the Goodricke goalkeeper isnt called Gooch, or even any Goodricke player! Sort it out.
