The headliners for York University’s very own music festival “Live & Loud” held on the Heslington East campus have just been announced.
YUSU’s twitter feed broke the news earlier this evening, revealing big name “DJ Fresh”, creator of Number 1 chart hits “Louder” and “Hot Right Now” as their headline act. Following in a tradition of big name headliners including Professor green and last year’s headliner Katy B, and informing us that things were going to get “(live and) LOUDER”. Excuse the Pun.
He’ll finish off this year’s freshers week alongside supporting acts such as alt rock band “Peace”, and whose acclaimed single “Money” recently topped Radio One’s’s World’s Hottest record chart.
Irish actor and big name house DJ Kristen Nair, who is perhaps better known for his role as Hodor on Game of Thrones will also take to the stage, alongside acclaimed beat box trio “Duke”, who mix skillful beat boxing with live guitars and boast no backing tracks, and The Struts, a four piece hailing from Derby who promise swagger packed Kasabian and Oasis influenced indie rock.
Twitter seems to be reacting positively to the news with one account posting “I love you guys, what a line-up”, while another, obviously more interested in low fantasy than deep house tweeted merely “Hodor!”.
Tickets are £29 and are currently available on the YUSU website.
I think you might mean “DJ Kristian Nairn”
29 pounds???? I still can’t believe that YUSU can’t put a good event on with the price of their tickets. Live and Loud was the worst event I ever went to in York and a terrible end to Freshers week. Biggest rip off, any freshers reading this – save your money and don’t go!
