Orlando Bloom could be set for a stunning debut at the University of York in two years following plans by producers to shoot a new film about Guy Fawkes.
The 36-year-old English actor is being targeted for the lead role in the £20 million movie which is due to have parts of its release shot at studios at the University.
The production, which will remake the famous Gunpowder Plot, has been proposed by film and media company Elsa and has been in discussion for the past year.
The project has already seen significant interest with an investor from Dubai offering £8 million towards the release.
However, further investment is being sought from private individuals in return for a 20 per cent stake in the company.
Spokesman Scott Rhodes told the Northern Echo: “With an expected budget of £20m, Guy Fawkes – which is the working title – is initially attracting investment through the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme and is a very attractive opportunity for early investors.”
Mr Rhodes added that he anticipated a release in 2016 following production which would take place in 2015.
Rumours that the Courtyard will release the Orlando-Bloom Burger in celebration are yet to be confirmed.
