Metal giants Black Sabbath headlined the closing night of Download music festival this weekend. Formed in 1969 and widely regarded as the creators of the heavy metal genre, this was the band’s only festival appearance of the year.
Sunday’s Black Sabbath line-up included three of the original four members with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Lommi, and Geezer Butler. 2012 marks the 10th anniversary for Download, which also saw Trivium, The Prodigy, Killswitch Engage and, strangely, Chase and Status, in a weekend that was only slightly marred by bad weather.
