Last night a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of carrying out a sexual assault within the University of York campus during the evening of 27th January this year. The same male youth was also arrested on suspicion of exposing himself indecently to another female victim on the same evening.
At the end of January York Vision reported how, on the Sunday evening between 7.15 and 7.30pm a female student was inappropriately touched before the attacker escaped on a white bicycle. And soon after, what is believed to be the same man pulled down his trousers and exposed himself to a second victim.
The youth arrested is a local to the area and currently remains in police custody whilst enquiries continue.
A second year English student gave Vision her response:
“I’m more scared really, I know it’s good someone has been arrested but just knowing that there have been sexual assaults on campus is enough to make any girl a bit scared.”
