York Outer MP Julian Sturdy questioned Boris Johnson at Wednesday’s PMQs, asking for evidence as to why York was placed under Tier 2 restrictions.
The PM however was not forthcoming in his information as to why York’s restrictions were increased, and how the city can hope to be lowered into Tier 1.
Sturdy has consistently raised concerns over the impact new restrictions are having on York’s tourism and hospitality industry.
The MP has recently caused controversy amongst the University, by citing students as the cause to the rising in COVID-19 cases, something he has since formally apologised for.
