York’s Labour MP Rachael Maskell told the Health Secretary that she does not think Tier 2 restrictions on the city are “enough to protect York”.

This comes after the announcement was made yesterday, meaning households are unable to mix from midnight on Saturday.

The number of cases has increased by 60 per cent over the past week, following many campus accommodation blocks being placed in lockdown.
