24 hour opening times are set to return during the exam period that will last from the 2nd of
May to June 4th.
Outside of the exam period, the library has been open daily from 8am to midnight.
In an Instagram post on the 27th of April, the library encouraged all those making use of the
extended opening hours to “please, please, please, take regular breaks”.
Library staff reminded students that “all nighters are not necessarily a great idea but if you do
find yourself needing to do them, take breaks, walk around the library a bit, get fresh air, eat
healthy food and drink a load of water”.
The summer term has seen other changes for the library, which was closed for over four
months in 2020 due to Covid-19- hot food will now be allowed in the Fairhurst building and
desks have been adorned with ‘Book This Desk’ stickers and QR codes.
Further information on the library’s summer term updates can be found on their website.
