Students in Vanbrugh received an email today from the college administrator informing them that cushions on the JCRC sofas have been stolen.
Georgina Heath, Vanbrugh College Administrator, warned: “You have a one day amnesty before we get Security involved and start trawling the CCTV to find the culprits.
“Should we have to resort to this we will have to classify the removal of the cushions as theft and this will be reported to the police.”
Students across the college have been left shocked and appalled at the callous theft.
One second year Vanbrugh student said: “It may not seem like a big deal, but I spend all my time in the common room, for me the sofa cushions are the glue that holds together the Vanbrugh common room.”
Another said: “The Vanbrugh JCRC has such scant provisions anyway, it’s pretty bad that they can’t even keep a hold of the cushions on the sofas.”
Joshua Treacy, Vanbrugh Chair, told Vision: “As the JCR is currently working to improve the facilities in the JCRC, it’s disappointing to see them being taken advantage of in this way, however, we’re still optimistic that someone will come forward and return the cushions to their rightful place.”
The search is ongoing, but if you have any information regarding the missing cushions, contact Georgina Heath.
This is a pisstake, right?
Word on the street is that some Leprechauns took them.
Won’t somebody think of the children?!!
UPDATE: The cushions have been returned! :D
We are very glad to see the JCR back in its normal state and we hope that they remain there in the future for use by all the students of the college.
