A build-up of twigs and debris can be found covering various small paths across campus, as well as damage to the roof of Derwent College Block A.

Broken roof cladding, presumably caused by the harsh winds

The broken roof cladding and the fallen trees have been reported to Campus Safety, the University’s safety and security team, which aims to provide 24-hour support to anyone who lives or works at the University.

Currently, there are no signs or tape cordoning off the afflicted areas.

Campus Safety said they will be clearing away the trees tomorrow; there were initial plans to put tape around the trees to protect them, but they thought the tape would blow away.

A yellow warning for wind is in place for Storm Daragh until 6 pm, with more rain also expected.
