The Carter-James trophy will return to York, who triumphed in Roses 2011 this morning after taking 4 points from women’s basketball.
The combined total of points available was 281, making 141 a winning target. York started Sunday on 137.5 points; needing only 3.5 points from the day’s events.
Lancaster won 24-21 in this morning’s netball 3rds, after captain Kate Copson was injured in the warm-up, but secured a win a game worth four points – the women’s basketball 1sts – to win the tournament.
This win is York’s 24th in Roses’ history, putting them two ahead of Lancaster, who won their 22nd last year.
