York’s mixed trampolining team were victorious in a close encounter against a talented Lancaster team. With the scores marked negatively from 10 points at up to -0.5 per jump on a 10 jump routine precision and consistency were key in all categories.
In the novice category York’s Debbie Treece came out with the highest score at 47.1 out of 60. Jack Goodfellow also jumped well with a score of 45 putting him second.
Daisy Pickles also won the intermediate category, posting a score of 46.9 in what was shaping up to be a good afternoon for York’s trampoline people as president of the club Rachael Bates finished 3rd.
However, Lancaster’s intermediate contestants put up strong opposition and claimed 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th to put the tie in the balance as the elite jumpers began.
As the talent levels reached the ridiculous we saw impressive displays across the board set up a tense (but thanks to the strung out process still surprisingly dull) finish.
York just edged it with Rebecca Pedley, an ex-national competitor, putting in a seemingly flawless display including an array of flips and other complex moves without straying from the middle spot on the trampoline.
The final standings put York at 371.8 points to Lancaster’s 364.8.
