Tries from Woodward, Osborne, Ross and Naidoo sent York on their way to a comfortable victory over Lancaster, collecting two Roses points in the process.
York made a lightning start which gave Lancaster a mountain to climb from the early stages.
Will Peters knocked over a penalty from directly under the posts and moments later directed a brilliant cross-field pass to Olly Woodward who crashed over the line to record the game’s first try. Peter’s notched the extras to give York a 10-0 lead.
The early energy soon faded from York, however, and Lancaster were beginning to get a foothold, enjoying more possession and missing a penalty from distance.
Lancaster then almost made the breakthrough to halve the York lead, but a great tackle from Jordan Abbott just two yards off the line thwarted such possibilities.
But the half time whistle came at the wrong time for Lancaster, who were beginning to get into their stride. York regrouped and Conan Osborne charged through the Lancaster ranks to touch down and deliver a body blow to the hosts, with Peters converting at 17-0.
York then shot themselves in the foot somewhat as a clearance was charged down by a Lancaster player who ran through and touched down to make it 17-7.
Immediately bouncing back, Tim Ross profited from a misplaced Lancaster pass to steam through under the posts, allowing Peters to convert and recover the points cushion at 24-17.
Substitute Harris scored a penalty with five minutes remaining and Rishi Naidoo provided the icing on the cake with a try in the dying moments, with Harris notching the extras to bring the final score to 34-12.
