The Equestrian Team may have not had the most memorable season so far, with both A and B teams failing to qualify for regionals. However the teams have shown a steady improvement throughout the year, boding well for Roses. The A team was able to score a excellent victory in the last competition with the team taking an overall first place and captain Elle Iockey taking overall first.
The competition promises to be a tightly contested affair. Lancaster came out on top in their Roses encounter last year, however due to the nature of the sport, home advantage is likely to favour York this time as Lancaster will be forced to use York’s horses during the competition, which when coupled with extra training runs should give York an advantage.
With key members such as club captain Iockey and club president Kate Paxton graduating, they will no doubt be looking to go out on a high, and if they are able to replicate their final performance of last term then there is a great chance that they will be able to do so.
