The trend for fashion brands releasing their own cosmetics line has been developing for a while; we’ve seen collections of make-up, skincare and nail polishes from Topshop and Jack Wills, and now it’s the turn of global hero brand Superdry.
Famous for their urban take on classic preppy styles, Superdry are releasing a high-impact beauty line that fuses their iconic design with quality, wearability and affordable luxury. The range is priced between £2-20 and features makeup, nail polishes, gift-sets and cosmetic accessories – creams, tweezers, brushes.
Skin is kept neutral, with contouring created through the use of their highlighters, bronzers and blushers while lips are glossy pink. Eye products feature a range of bright block and duo eyeshadows, keratin-infused volumising mascara and felt-tip eyeliners – all carefully designed from packaging to product to ensure maximum-impact. My favourite items are the ‘Eye Marker’ (I’m a felt-tip/brush convert) and neon-pink Kabuki brush – this beauty indulgence is cheaper than a trip to the Willow, and won’t leave me feeling dreadful in the morning either.
The makeup comes with an accompanying selection of handbag-essentials and accessories – neon bags, mirrors and nail files in fluorescent shades. Perfect for adding a little excitement to your own make-up bag or as a gift for a friend – Superdry’s collection is high-quality and affordable, and will be available in York from mid-Feb.
