What’s the most important part of your manifesto?

Women’s liberation campaigns have been amazing this past year, but we want to see more people getting involved with our campaigns and events, and coming to meetings, so our aim is to create big, inclusive, uni-wide events to raise awareness of our campaigns and get everyone working together!

What was your favourite thing the previous officer did and why?

Josie and Saskia have done a great job in really getting WomCom going! We’ve had some great big events that brought in impressive audiences (eg. Sexposé and the Online Feminism Panel) and we’d love to keep these up!

What’s the most important thing about the role you are going for?

We think it’s really important to give women on campus a platform to get talking, sharing experiences, creating crafty DIY things, and to be part of a movement!

How are you campaigning?

We’ll be pottering about, engaging with women (and others) on campus and asking them what they want from the Women’s Network. Also the regular social networking and postering activities will be taking place.

What do you like the most about York?

Emily: The pokey pubs, the cafes in improbable places (did you know there’s a cafe IN Walmgate Bar?), also sexy architecture.

Peggy: If I’m honest, York is probably the first place where I’ve been involved with a large group of activists! Women’s Committee and the other groups I’ve met (Queer Ducks, FemFilm, etc) have been a great source of comfort and validation!

What’s the best slogan you can think of for your campaign?

What do you think about York Vision?

You’ve definitely generated some interesting debates!
