It’s a debate that’s been brewing since the takeover of Costcutter in January.
Just how do you pronounce Nisa?
Well, York Vision can reveal that the shop, located on Market Square and at Halifax College, is in fact pronounced “Nicer”.
Rachel Dawson, the company’s Brand Manager, told us: “Technically it’s pronounced “Nicer” – but many people (including our shop owners!) pronounce it ‘Neesa’.”
“At the end of the day, we don’t really mind how people say it – in fact our latest TV ad plays on this very theme!”
So that’s the debate settled then folks. No more “Neesa”, as it’s “Nicer” – yes, “Nicer Local”.
What about Nissa? Or is that just me?
I think the correct pronunciation is “Costcutter”.
If you stay in the shop for more than 5 seconds, they announce offers and stuff over the intercom and say the same then?
