Campaign in three words: Spread the love.
What’s the most important part of your manifesto?
Establishing Cultural events across campus to celebrate key BME events such as Black history month and Diwali which people from all ethincities can participate in to showcase the best of the BME community and share it with a wider audience.
How do you differ from other candidates?
We feel we have far more experience and better awareness of BME issues, between us being a governor in South London school and also being vice-chair and BME officer in the University Labour Club gives us superior skills and experience suited to the role. Also we believe us seeking partnership with York St. John is a unique policy.
What was your favourite thing the previous officer did and why?
Promoting the BME network allowing for increasing co-operation between BME support services and societies.
What’s the most important thing about the role you are going for?
Raise awareness of rights of enfranchisement among people of different cultures.
How are you campaigning?
Social networking, Friends, Societies, just really spreading the word to all students regardless of race or ethnicity.
What do you like the most about York?
Neil – Being a history student, it’s got to be the historic significance of the city and all the structures that still remain from hundreds of years ago, and also it don’t look bad.
John – The Afro-Carribean barber.
What’s the best slogan you can think of for your campaign?
Neil and Big John – Covering all the Bases.
What do you think about York Vision?
It’s won awards for a reason.
