A man in his 20s has been found dead in student accommodation.
Police were called to a university building in the Heslington Road area at 7pm on Sunday evening.
Formal identification is not due to take place until at least Wednesday.
A force spokesman said: “Police were called at 7pm on Sunday 15 February to the sudden death of man in his twenties at an address in York.
“Enquiries were carried out at the scene, and police are not treating the death as suspicious. We are not in a position to identify him at this time. A report is being compiled for the coroner.”
A university spokesman said they could not comment.
