The University of York is set to host the inaugural White Rose Trophy sponsored by Kingfisher beer on Thursday June 12 at 2pm. The T20 spectacle will be played against fierce rivals York St John University, who will be desperate to hold the bragging rights in what is sure to be an explosive encounter.
Cricket is not the only spectacle on offer however, with York’s own DJ set, Bangers & Mash, set to perform a tropical house set during the interval break. The carnival atmosphere will be topped off with a barbeque, ice cream van and projected sunshine with temperatures set to exceed twenty degrees.
UYCC president, Matija Pisk, says that the event “will be a great chance for everyone to enjoy an afternoon in the sun after exams. There’s something for everyone to enjoy so I’m hoping for a good turnout on 22 acres.”
