James were made to look almost amateur against a well practiced Wentworth side this weekend, which consisted of three unusually strong pairings. Wentworth brushed aside the efforts of James’ players, to claim a resounding victory which will provide them with confidence for the coming weeks.
James’ pairing of Lauren Cain and Rob Bartlett managed to win one game, resulting in a resounding 8-1 victory to Wentworth (with an additional point for winning making it 9-1).
This encounter proves that Wentworth are serious contenders for winning the college badminton league, although James failed to provide the usual levels of competitiveness, highlighted by Chris Butterworth’s dire performance.
However nothing can be taken away from the excellent performance of Wentworth’s players, namely John McLean and Lichi who were both instrumental in their pairings’ victories.
