Bold and quirky by design, the front cover of The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson visibly portrays the eponymous window of the title. Black, booming divisive lines transform the front cover into four separate panels, each a container for something different and all with calming, cool blue tones. The most outstanding of these panels contains an elderly gentleman, wheeling a suitcase to a destination off-frame, indicating that this is not a tale of suicide as the title suggests but his crouching stoop and attire shows that he is the 100-year-old man and this is definitely his story.
