The title track from 17 year-old Nesbitt’s debut album is pleasingly light-hearted with a guitar intro that immediately catches your attention. With a sound comparable to a Paolo Nutini, but softer and female, Nesbitt, who also hails from Scotland, competes with the likes of singer-songwomen Laura Marling, Kate Nash, and Ellie Goulding. ‘The Apple Tree’ bodes well for future success though; with its intriguingly catchy chorus and smooth-as-silk vocal over a compelling acoustic beat perhaps it will be the one to stand out.
