James College have announced their JCRC election results at their Christmas Formal last night at the Royal York Hotel. Laura Watson beat off competition from fellow current Ents rep Cameron Lane-Ley andĀ Gibson Oluwafemi Michael to succeed Emma Barlett as the head of the college.
James’ executive committee is completed by vice-chairs George Richards, Becky Gray and Luke Spindler alongside treasurer Louise Bond and secretary Hannah Webster.
Watson’s election as chair sees the start of an ambitious new year for the college, with plans already outlined to retain the RAG Cup
as well as claiming the College Volunteering Cup.
Watson told Vision, “I’m over the moon that I’ve got the position as Chair. I really feel for the candidates who didn’t get the position though, especially Cameron Lane-Ley – he’s been a great person to work with this past year alongside Mark Ross-Smith and Alice Garcia-Melgares.”
“I even cried when it was announced. Being Chair means to the world to me, I absolutely adore James College and have Big plans to make sure every college envies our success.”
Alcuin are now the only college not to have announced their JCRC election results. These will be announced at their Christmas ball tomorrow evening.
