  1. People shouldn’t be using owls as part of their entertainment.

I’m sure everyone could have coped without the presence of an owl.

Unless they’re suffering from an owl deficiency. Which they’re not.

Totally unnecessary. Leave the owl out next time.

  2. Another pointless campus event, by the looks of things. I hope you raised more money for RAG than the huge number of happy attendees on the photos would suggest. At least enough to outweigh the uncharitable act of hiring an unnecessary owl from some local scumbag anyway.

  3. @Charles.

    In what way pointless?

Being there for most of the day, I saw hundreds of students attending the various aspects of the event.

It was the first event of its kind, so if trying something new and innovative is “pointless”, then I guess RAG are guilty there.

It’s people like you who put people off from taking a chance.

  4. True. Look through the photos, and try and spot attendees…

And Vision has made the owl (complete with the zany capital letters – you guys are so CRAZY) part of its questionnaire… knowing that most students wouldn’t be able to resist the weird, wacky option – and falsely confirming to the RAG organisers that chaining birds to posts is all part of the fun. Maybe they’ll chain up a few badgers for us next year. Badgers in amusing hats. That’d be popular. No, I know -a line of baby meerkats nailed to a plank and dressed as elves.

Interesting how Vision found time to put up a questionnaire loaded
against animal welfare but didn’t manage to find time to acknowledge an e-mail about the killing of a homeless campus kitten in the summer.

  5. People voting thumbs down to dead kittens. Nice.

Merry Christmas, everyone. God bless us one and all.

  6. @M.

The photos don’t show many attendees, however, there were hundreds there over the day.

I know this as I was there, not just spouting shite from behind the comfort of a computer screen…

  7. The event was very popular, I was there quite early and did take many more photos. Good on RAG hopefully see another event next year!

  8. Some good willed volunteers put on a festive event to raise money for Charity. Give em’ a break.
