Sunday saw the Halifax’s summer event Faxival take place in amongst the college’s 7 main courts, with live music and entertainment, activities, and an evening talent show for residents and other students to enjoy. All 100 tickets were made available for the event through YUSU’s YourShop were sold in advance, 100 tickets were sold around courts the day before Faxival and 100 ticekts were sold on the day. Numbers at the event reached 400.

Halifax College President, Davedass Mootanah described the day as, “a fun-filled eventful day of happiness, joy and laughter – a huge success that would not have been possible without the hard work of the HCSA committee and event organiser Andrew Wallace. It will definitely be a future tradition for Halifax”…

Whilst the evening’s ‘Halifax’s got Talent’ competition was won by Rhena Dhugga and Joe Cockerline, who performed “Whole Again” by Atomic Kitten. Following the talent contest, students were offered VIP entry, Queue-Jump passes and a VIP area to Vodka Revolution’s YUSU Night…

Second year Halifax student Aman Brar told Vision: “I thought the event was well organised and lots of fun. The hog roast tasted so good I went for seconds.”
