March for the Alternative: In Pictures

On Saturday, an estimated half a million people marched in protest to the government’s cuts programme, including students, lecturers and other educators. Unlike last November, they were joined by members of the TUC and other unions, making this one of the largest protests in a generation.

Though the day ended in violence, the vast majority of protestors were peaceful, and the tone of the day was markedly different to that that led to the violence at Millbank last year. Vision’s co-Photo Editor, Oliver Todd, was there to snap much of the action.
