Popworks, a snack company that produces popped corn crisps, has been giving out freebies at the University of York last week.

One student said: “What’s more to love, free snacks on campus!”.

The company, known for offering a healthier alternative to traditional crisps, set up pop-up stalls in the Spring Lane building and outside Central Hall on Wednesday and Thursday last week.

Popworks employees were dressed in branded overalls as they gave students several crisp packets each, quickly emptying box after box of the snack.

In March and April 2023, Brand Planet, a specialist sampling agency, distributed 400,000 Popworks samples and leaflets to university students across the UK.

Popworks frequently gives out freebies at universities across the UK including King’s College London, University of Warwick, Cardiff University and the University of Lincoln.
