YUSU has indicated that Roses could be set to return in summer term 2021, despite government guidelines resulting in the cancellation of many club fixtures this term.
Following a recent tweet from YUSU, the annual sporting competition between the University of York and Lancaster University may still go ahead later this year.
The tweet further advertises the position of Sport Coordinator, as YUSU call on students to apply for the role, which they say will “help shape the tournament that has over 140 fixtures between us and Lancaster”.
This position may come into play if Roses is to go ahead.
YUSU further states it is “looking for a capable and ambitious sports enthusiast with a keen interest in the organisation, administration, and leadership of sport”, adding that candidates should have “great organisational and communication skills, as well as experience of working in a team and supporting others. [They] should also be confident at using G Suite and Microsoft Office packages”
In outlining the benefits of the role, YUSU have emphasised “flexible working arrangements with a real work/life balance”, stating that “the working week will be based around 35 hours per week”.
Applications for the role of Sport Coordinator will close on Wednesday 20 January 2021 at midnight, with interviews taking place on Friday 29 January 2021.
